Support local – Warwickshire edition

So I’ve been trying my best to support as many breweries, bars, food places, charities and people (where possible as I’m on shielding duty) since we all went into lockdown. I might not be able to volunteer on the frontline but I am choosing to vote with my wallet (because I’m lucky enough to have a job and work at present) or by investing my time to help where I can in a virtual capacity.

So here’s a roundup of places in Warwickshire that you can invest in right now if you want to get a pretty awesome beer fix in my neck of the woods.

I’ll extend this to further afield into Birmingham (and beyond) in the coming days/weeks.

The Drawing Board Bottle Shop: since I went to into isolation pretty early on this awesome bunch were the first to offer door-step drops so I could get my beer hit safely. Get your asses to their website and you can order so much good stuff. They have an amazing beer selection… I pretty often frequent and buy from their ‘Weird Shit’ section! I’d recommend keeping an eye on their Instagram to see their most recent beer haul updates.

Their online shop is open all the time and they deliver Mon – Saturday. Last orders for same day delivery is 3pm that day (except Monday’s which is 12pm). Minimum order is £20 and delivery charges are £5 within a 6 mile radius or you can qualify for free delivery if your order totals over £40.

What I’ll most likely order next: Dugges Choc Chip, Neon Raptor Night Drive, Northern Monk/Deya Mortal Planes, Tiny Rebel/Polly’s Pineapple Express, and I might get another Thirsty Pioneers Affogato Stout!

Church Farm

Currently offering contactless beer deliveries in Warwickshire and you can now get a mixed case of 12 beers for £20 which is pretty epic. I had a mixed case delivered and it included the pretty awesome line-up of two of each of the: Pale Ale, Harry’s Heifer, IPA, Double IPA, Brown Porter, Black IPA.

Delivery is free in Warwick/Leamington and to place your order you can contact Jo@churchfarmbrewery.co.uk, call 01926 411 569 or DM them on Instagram to order and book in a delivery slot.

What I’ll most likely order next: A mixed Case – why mess with this system when it works so well and this means you don’t have to play ‘favourites’.

Purity

Of course these guys deliver via their website! You can get cans, bottles, mini casks and OMG – a bloody Polypin of 5 of their pretty awesome beers (that’s 20 litres of live, cask conditioned beer)!!!

That’s not all – they also do two ‘pub experiences’ which include bottle/cans with a range of snacks. Perfect for a cheer up lock down gift for your nearest and dearest.

They offer free delivery for orders of four cases or more on all Purity Bottles and three cases of all other larger packs. Otherwise shipping is calculated at check-out.

What I’ll most likely order next: If I didn’t have so much beer in my house I’d totally get a Polypin of Longhorn obviously!!! I so want to try the Prancing Pony as I’ve never had it.

Warwick Real Ale

You can still get your growler filled up at this pretty awesome shop from their uber cool draft selection. You can also order bottles/cans from their website and then pop-in and click & collect. Or the team can also drop deliveries off for free to nearby postcodes: 0-2 miles (Min order £25), 2-6 miles (Min order £50), 6-10 Miles (Min order £75).

Orders received before 10am (Monday to Friday) will be delivered on the next Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 12 noon and 3pm, without exception.  All deliveries will be placed outside the front door where possible meaning you can get your beer haul safely.

What I’ll most likely order next: Anything new by Brew York (when they’re back in stock), Canopy Ameretti Imperial stout, Cloudwater Both Sides of the Bridge, Neon Raptor Total Eclipse and Pressure Drop Dream Life.

Twisted Barrel

This is very exciting – this awesome bunch recently launched an online shop and I’m gagging to get a delivery ordered. Check out their Instagram for the up-to-date details to check whether your postcode falls within their beer drop-zone.

Dangggg the 1st May looks pretty tasty as hell now thanks to these planned releases: Wrapped in Citra (new version), The OG Gose Town with Raspberry, Cranberry and Blackberry and Vurt in a can!

Currently delivering to CV postcodes only.

What I’ll most likely order next: Cherry Pies Ought to be you, plus some draft beer (yes draft)…and any of the new releases if I can get my hands on them.

Warwickshire Beer Co.

These guys are offering quite a selection for us to enjoy at home. You can get your hands on Darling Buds, Yer’Bard, Duck Soup, Liquid Bread and Two Castles Porter in either 5ltr containers or 10ltr/20ltr polypins. Then there’s also their newest bottled beer from Warwickshire Beer Co – SPA which you can grab in 12 x 500ml format.

Delivery is free within a 10 mile radius of the brewery in Cubbington. Order via their website now.

What I’ll most likely order next: Duck Soup and maybe some SPA if I can rope in a few neighbours to share the 12 pack.

———

It’s important we band together right now and support the indies so we can continue sipping their delicious beers or visiting their amazing spaces post lockdown.

Feel free to hit me up with anymore beer related info to add to this post but I hope it’s helped. Happy to add beer snack options too!
